Researchers from the conservation planning group are studying how organisations involved in natural resource management (NRM) collaborate with one another. People participating in the study will benefit from a better understanding of the networks available to them, and how to better access or share information and other resources to improve NRM. The results will also be useful to facilitate engagement with stakeholders and identify ways to enable collaboration.
The catchment-to-coast planning team is inviting organisations that work in any aspect of NRM in the Fitzroy River (WA), Daly River (NT), and Gilbert River (QLD) catchments. The research team is studying how organisations involved collaborate with one another. This information will be used to map social networks and study collaboration between organisations participating in NRM projects relevant to these catchments.
Jorge Alvarez-Romero, who leads the project, said that “it is very important to get the input of all organisations with a stake in NRM in the region, so that their networks are well represented. This will make the results of the study more relevant and useful for everyone.”
